Mark Zuckerberg speaking at FOWA!
We’re extremely excited to welcome Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook (as if you didn’t know), to the Future of Web Apps stage. I’m going to have a 30 minute on-stage chat with Mark on October 10th, and I’d love to know what you would like to ask him. If you had one question, what would it be?

Is the new redesign having an effect on 3d party apps?
-Are sign-ups/installs still increasing?
-Is usage going up/down?
-How much did you consult with 3rd party app developers about the redesign?

Morning Ryan,
A couple of questions for Mark that are quite topical at the moment:
The new design has received a lot of negative criticism from Facebook users. At what point would you deem it a ‘failure’ and revert back to the old design?
Further to the new design, did you consult the Facebook advertising partners (those who advertise on your app) when constructing the new design?

How will facebook connect affect users of existing services that are being made compatible? i.e. will I be able to merge my facebook & twitter/stumbleupon/vimeo accounts?
Will there be a two way feed between some of these services i.e. could I get facebook to update twitter? instead of facebook being the consumer?
Or have I wildly misunderstood the Facebook Connect functionality?

Great speaker! Suggest asking him two obvious questions:
1) Facebook aggregates most of my social networks into a single place to form a lifestream. This is only possible thanks to the openness of sites such as delicious, flickr, twitter, etc. Are Facebook committed to allowing me to access *my* Facebook data in the same way?
2) Facebook has an enormous amount of social information, not just how I as an individual behave, but how we behave as a hive-mind. Are Facebook planning any interesting and communal uses for this data than them providing more accurately targeted advertising?
I’m sure he’ll knock ‘em for six, but we do need to keep asking!

I’ll start the ball rolling:
Since FacebookSync (http://fsbsoftware.com/index.html) development has been forced to cease, are Facebook working on any more Address Book syncing applications? Facebook is a huge resource for contact information – is this only going to be available through Facebook Phone Book? The Facebook iPhone app is fantastic, but bypassing the iPhone address book handicaps the integration.

I have questions for him about Leadership, particularly given his age and the size of the company.
1) What are the most valuable things he has learned as a CEO?
2) What advice does he have for other young CEO’s?
3) What advice does he have for working with VCs?
4) If he could do it all over, what would he have done differently?

The new facebook is abit like Marmite; some people love it; some people hate it; However the majority would have to say they hate it, they’ve changed it too much, its abit like changing from a Windows PC to a Mac or a Linux Distro.
There is a new name for facebook at the moment; Failbook. I hope for gods sake they decide to revert it back to the old facebook!
I now only use Facebook via my iPod Touch app!

I’d like you to ask Mark if he is opposed to users owning their social graph and personal data, and what kind of rights users should have in controlling their online data, relationships and content.
I’d also like you to ask what he would like FaceBook to ultimately become 5-10 years from now, as social networking matures. How will we all benefit if he is successful implementing his vision long-term?

Hey Ryan,
The most exciting thing for me is the Facebook payments system, which was originally announced last year but no news since. If combined with FB connect this could be pretty revolutonary, and could even rival paypal in scope.
So ask him – when’s it being released?!

Can you tell me how the facebook transition to other languages was? I mean Facebook can have the ability to recruit millions (and it did) while using FB everyone was able to translate the site to submit their own interpretation in another language, how all this got managed and happened?
