The entrepreneurial bug has bitten Elliot and he’s decided to brave the wild and start his own design firm. We’re so excited for him and we know he’ll kick ass :)

I was really sad when Elliot told me he was going to move on. It has been such a joy having him on the team. However, we really believe in people doing what they’re most passionate about and Elliot knew it was time for him to venture out on his own. It’s been a great relationship for both of us as he’s established a hand-crafted style for Carsonified that I just love, and we’ve helped him raise his profile in the web industry and given him some amazing projects to work on like FOWA Miami, HugMyMac.com, Web App Charts, FOWA Road Trip and the Carsonified re-brand. It’s been a great relationship.
Elliot’s last day isn’t until April 18th but he decided to tell us early because he knew Gill and I were having a baby on April 18th so he didn’t want to cause undue stress. I really respect that.
Obviously we’re looking for an amazing new designer now, so if you want to work at one of the best web companies in Europe (and possibly the world :D) please check out our jobs page. We’d love to hear from designers who are passionate about Web Standards, accessibility and blogging. Please keep in mind that we’ll need you to work from our nice office in Bath, but if you’d love to work with us and you’re the right person for the job, we’d be happy to talk about re-locating you.
Well … goodbye Elliot … we’ll leave the light on for you :)

Wow, I’m quite surprised Elliot has decided to leave so soon but things change and I’m sure he’ll do well out on his own. Good luck Elliot!
Btw, I’m glad you’ll still be around for FOWD London. See you there!

Always sad news when a valued member of a small team moves on.
What does this mean for your brand? Do you have more than one designer, or is the Carsonified brand mainly a product of Elliot’s work? May be an interesting challenge when you hire a new designer to continue with the brand as well as take it to new levels in an evolutionary way.
Or am I talking rubbish?

@Paul - The Carsonified re-brand was Elliot’s work, but I’m convinced it’ll last us quite a while. I imagine the new designer will enjoy working with a new, fresh brand.

What a fantastic launching platform for Elliot though.
Ryan - this is great for you. Everything superb work Elliot does in the future will reflect well on Carsonified.

[…] To those of you that have seen the presentation entitle ‘Destroy The Web 2.0 Look‘ by now you should know who is the man behind it. Apart from designing websites, Elliot Jay Stocks is also a writer and a speaker at conferences and events . His portfolio is nothing less then impressive, from Massive Attack to Beth Orton, he also re-design Carsonified and gave it a fresher looks. Currently working at Carsonified, he will be leaving the company this April to venture on his on. I’m sure he will do just fine on his own and wish him all the best. To Elliot, good luck and thank you for answering these questions. […]
